THE USE OF ICT FOR COMMUNICATION AND COLLABORATION
The Melbourne Declaration on the Educational Goals for Young Australians (MCEETYA 2008) recognises and places importance on all children being able to access and learn to use ICTs as part of our rapidly changing world. Therefore the Australian Curriculum for our school children has placed an emphasis on the use of ICT across all areas of curriculum (ACARA, 2012). With some excellent ICT resources, that align with the Australian Curriculum are available from the Scootle website.
HOW WE USE ICT TO COMMUNICATE
We use Storypark to communicate with parents and families, this is an easy and safe way for the class to stay in touch with families. It enables us to post photos, videos to keep everyone up to date. Parents can view their child's progress on their smartphone or computer.
The use of Technology to Communicate and Collaborate with other students from all over the world, supports the ideas of the Social Learning Theory where communication and Collaboration between others is an essential part of the learning process.
